The best thing about taking both steam train photos and wildlife photos is that there is always something to go at. Summer is not the best time for steam railway photography as the super heated steam gets absorbed into the atmosphere. On clear sharp cold days the plumes of white steam enhance the photographs. However from now on we can look forward to butterfly and dragonfly photography.
There has been some good weather for photography recently, after a dismal January we have had a great period with some snow. This has produced some stunning steam train photos at the Great Central railway and a nice Robin photo.
